November 8, 2020 - Podium finish in National 100 in Late Model at EAMS
Ahnna Parkhurst drove her Fields Inc. No. 23 Cushman Paint and Body/ Richard Childress Racing Super Late Model to a podium finish in Sunday’s 46th Annual National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway.

“That was a crazy race with a lot of attrition,” Parkhurst commented. “We realized early that tires were going to play a huge part in the outcome of the race. On lap 49, I had a flat. I pitted under caution for two new rear tires. Dad leans in and tells me to drive easy the next 40 laps and maybe we’ll have something for them at the end – and we did. I hate it for those guys running up front, you never want a race to end that way. Overall, we had a really good weekend.”

Taking advantage of tangle between two frontrunners on the final lap, Ahnna crossed the line in fourth, however, was elevated to a third-place finish after a car was disqualified. She trailed Joseph Joiner and Christian Hanger across the line with Rodney Martin and Dale McDowell rounding out the Top-5.

For the $5,000-to-win Crate Late Model feature, Ahnna was running in a podium spot for first half of the event until contact by another competitor affected her handling. After battling back into the Top-5, Parkhurst ran out of fuel in the final laps that dropped her back to 12th when she took the checkers.
